House Hunter Website

Is there any website where house hunters and sellers can communicate.

Like a list of hunters with preferred areas, and a list of sellers where they are selling as a means of cutting out the estate agent.

Everytime i bought, the agent vanished when the booking deposit was paid and only resurface if there was a major issue otherwise it was the solicitors doing the back and forth. And if the sale collapsed the agent would just return the deposit.

It would save a lot for a buyer and less hassle for a seller as the house would be cheaper, therefore more money for the buyer and a quicker sale for a cheaper house for the seller.

    Any thoughts

    No

Any vendor can sell privately if they wish. I don’t understand what communication you need with vendor after sale agreed other than survey. Your booking deposit will be secure with estate agent should you wish to pull out of sale.

There's a "specialist" private sale site around but the majority of the vendors on it appear to be using it to list at a higher price than any agent would be willing to list at. Stubbornness, trying to convince a bank you are trying to sell or whatever other reason you can think of. So no point even linking to it!
