TUS concern

I got a letter from DSP asking if I'd be interested in a TUS placement. Can I say no without being cut? My concern is that my husband is finishing up a course which will make him land a job afterwards. I'm applying for jobs but only been getting interviews for low paid roles which wouldn't leave much left after child care. I plan to get any job I can get when my husband is working as will be easier then. In the meantime I'm taking care of our kids. If I take a TUS placement, I would be left with too little to live on after child care... just don't know what to do.. do I say yes and explain to TUS or do I say no on the initial form

If you’re in receipt of JS payment then your available for full time work so any mention to SW of childcare issues will result in your disqualification.

Thanks splinter. I understand what you mean. However I am available and searching for full time work. I just would not be able to make ends meet if I took a TUS role and had to pay for childcare. I could afford childcare and it wouldn't be an issue if I got decent full time work

I know CE schemes have access to some kind of affordable childcare scheme, possible tus does too

Does anybody know about this childcare and how affordable it is? Also if I take a TUS role and job path send me letters, can I refuse them and explain I'm with TUS or do I need to do both? Already done jobpaTh

Tus dont do affordable chilcare. Nor do they provide courses or have a training allowance. Of all listed CE is best option. If you are on TUS then yku dont need to partake in another scheme as you'll be off the live register. Just remember you'll also be deducted usc from the extra 20 euro you receive from doing TUS
