    Hi.
I've been working 3 days a week for the last year because i cant work full time due to having ankylosing spondylitis which is a severe type of arthritis that affects the spine has other side effects such as extreme fatigue and is non reversible.
Im on JSA for the other 2 days.
Turas nua have nabbed me to work full time or lose JSA .
In the last few months work has become more and more physical so I handed in my notice 2 wks ago.
I've been advised that i would be better off applying DA.
I'm in the process of filling out DA forms they are nearly completed.
That's all fine but in which order should I apply so that it doesn't affect a payment.?
When I leave my job next week will it affect my JSA ?
Do I leave my job and then apply for DA or do I apply for DA before leaving?
What's the step by step way of doing it?
Do I let JSA run until DA is decided upon ?
Do I just say that im looking for something more suitable until DA is approved.
Who should be notified and what should they be told?

REALLY STUCK ON THIS PLEASE HELP

    Hi there don’t worry.
We’re you working in 2017 or 2016 ? Have you made at least 260 PRSI contributions?
If so then you’ll probably be entitled to Illness Benefit.
Your GP will fill up one bit of the form and you’ll get the other bit in the SW office.
You fill that in and send the 2 bits away.
While your in the SW make an appointment to see the CWO so you can get an SWA while your waiting for your illness benefit to be processed

    Hi .cheers for reply.
I was self employed before 2018 for a good few years but I was receiving JSA and I was means tested yearly.
I was able to do this because I wasn't making enough income through work.I worked for myself simply because it was easier to work when I could and not when I couldn't. This wouldn't work if I was emplayed.
I have plenty consultant and gp reports to state my condition.so I'm hoping it might be a smooth process.
it's the step by step way of applying is what's hard to work out .ie changing from JSA to DA.
    Thanks again
