    Hi all,

I work for an engineering company and regularly design stairs.
I have read through The building regulations (K, M) and cant find a definitive answer to my question.

Where the well of a stairs is less than 300mm does this constitute a landing? Does the railing have to be 1100 at a well if less than 300mm wide?

I read somewhere before that wells under 300 can have the guard rail at 900-1000 but I cant for the life of me find that document.

Can anyone give me a definitive answer?

    Thanks folks.
