This is the most impressive thing that's ever happened

Forget Michaelangelo painting a ceiling, or Edison inventing a lightbulb, or Messi scoring five goals in a Champions League game, or John Connors winning an IFTA, or that fella who broke the sound barrier by jumping from space. This is the most impressive thing that's ever been done - ever.

In 1974, a French fella walked between The World Trade Centre buildings, on a metal cable that was one inch in width. Not only that, but he did it without a harness. If he fell, game over. They'd still be shoveling up his remains today. No safety net. Nada.

Not only that, but the bloke sat down and even lay down on the wire - which, again, was one inch in diameter. Oh, and he spent 50 minutes on the cable, walking back and forth.

Nothing in pop culture or science or business or politics or anything comes close.

Seen it. Denzel is great but don't see the relevance Deebles.

I have, just now. I might be ignorant but I refuse to believe he pushed a wheelbarrow full of rocks on a tightrope across Niagra Falls. We're getting into the Biblical realm of unbelievability here, but maybe he did. Who knows.

Going to a music festival getting balubahs drunk and waking up in me own tent in me pj's with my clothes neatly folded up in the corner of the tent.. I believe... Is the greatest achievement mankind (not the wrestler) has ever seen.

A photo exists, can't see anything in the wheelbarrow though because of the angle

Charles Blondin Would bring a stove and table set across the Niagara on his back , stop in the middle, cook the omelette and then eat the omelette on a chair balanced on the rope, from a table balanced on a rope. Then he’d clean up and continue, although sometimes he’d take a nap.

Once you learn to do it, walking across a rope is handy enough.

The Mohawk steel erectors who built the skyscrapers before Health and Safety would have a right giggle at your man.

I love during the introduction how much effort Brendan O’Connor puts into not laughing. He is one facial twitch away from convulsions.... “I know I have to be professional right , but I’ve seen the rehearsal and and annnn ahhhhhhh :pac::pac::pac::pac::pac::p “
