Digiweb DD from Non Irish IBAN?

Just in the process of switching all my banking over to N26.
Has anyone encountered any issue in getting Digiweb to process DD's for non-Irish IBANs?

I ask as on their payments page it specifically says that DD must be drawn on Irish account?

Direct Debit (Must be from a ROI current account)

This is in breach of payment services directive 2007/64/EC and I just want to know if anyone else has had it resolved?

Shouldn't be an issue, but you might have to fill in a paper mandate.
I'd say drop them an email and ask - they're usually fairly friendly.

Happy to report that Digiweb rang me this morning and confirmed that N26 isnt an issue :D
Set up immediately over the phone.
As always brilliant support from the Digiweb team.

A lot of companies seem to be unaware that they can setup any Eurozone IBAN number for direct debit. It’s one payment system.

The confusion often arises in so far as the UK is only in SEPA as a sort of add on service. Our core electronic payments system is SEPA whereas in the UK SEPA is only there used for international transfers. Their domestic systems are still UK only eg BACS and CHAPS and their domestic DD scheme.

So if you say setup a French or Spanish IBAN on DD here it works perfectly. If you setup a UK one, it will reject the mandate as they’re only associate members of SEPA really.

    I think that’s a major reason why you’ve confusion.
