No life threatening injuries apparently. If they had assault rifles it's very unlikely none of the 6 officers would be more badly wounded. Regular body armour will stop small calibre and that's about it.

I heard on the scanner he has ARs and handguns, could turn out to be wrong., There must be a reason it taking them so long to storm the building.

The response by police was largely overkill from the look on the outside. Entire blocks of the city shut down by dozens of patrol cars that swarmed the scene, some of them there at that time just to stand around and huff. A great big live TV signal to everyone that virtually all other law enforcement activities had come to a screeching halt in the city of brotherly love.

Temple University science building was under shut down during the standoff. Temple was one of the three colleges my youngest was considering, but her sister who is attending another university said one of her professors came to their university because he used be at Temple and feared for his life... so he left for safer pastures. The youngest chose another university to attend instead… in Washington, DC… not any safer, unfortunately. Many urban centers in the US have become cesspools. And democrats (especially those running for POTUS) condemning the police left and right, and demanding lenient sentences for criminals, unfortunately embolden criminals against the police.

Shooter is black. Fox news is very happy they can show pictures of this one on the website and discuss his ethnicity. It's complicated for them when the shooter is white. You can only tell the ethnicity is white by absence of reference to it.

We'll, I think all American news is just entertainment so it makes little difference. I just find it interesting that you can tell the ethnicity of a shooter by looking at the website.

Is that not just because the majority of the time, your "black shooter" is known to the police, has already been arrested multiple times and so there are plenty of mug shots available?

Yeah. I suppose that could be one reason. But you can get pictures of people of you want them. Facebook instagram etc.

Thats assuming you know exactly who they are, when they are known to the police the police are telling you who they are so you have a positive ID.

No problem. I'll go first. You misread the entire meaning of my post. I said (in the previous posts) that you can tell the ethnicity of shooters in an ongoing scene from how Fox News deals with them. Muslim, black American or white American. So showing me a link so sky news wasn't really relevant, was it?

Are you going to show me what lead to you thinking I suggested the police over reacted, or not?

if you're not familiar with the MOVE bombing, look it up and you'll soon see why black people in Philly don't have respect for the police (and that's only the most famous incident, they've long had a reputation as thugs)

From what I'm reading the non-MOVE members of that neighbourhood weren't too fond of MOVE and called in the Police...

Is that the one where the police dropped a bomb on the house from a helicopter? Only time a US police force has bombed anywhere in the US. I heard about that on a stuff you should know podcast. The police let themselves down that time though. They opened fire on the house and made official reports that the residents fired an automatic gun at them first. Then it turned out the MOVE residents didn't have any automatic guns. Only the police had automatically guns. So... Police probably fired first into a house with children in.

Then they doused it with water cannons and when they bombed it and it caught fire, they stopped the water cannon and used the fire as a weapon against the MOVE propel. Bad behaviour from the police when the time came.

All I know is from the stuff you should know podcast. Seemed to be drawing on facts of the case and court records, but I don't know anything else. What did you hear different?
