Can anyone tell me what is taken into account in the means test.
I will have to apply for this while awaiting decision on application for invalidity pension.
My husband works but it is a low paid job.
My illness benefit is part of our household budget and covers outgoings every week.
Are outgoings taken into account. We have one child.
    Thank you.

Outgoings are not taken into account.
    SWA means test procedure here:

Would it not be possible to stay on IB until the IP decision is taken? Or did your IB run out?

Hi ya. Yeah my IB has run out. As soon as I was informed I looked at my options as I'm unwell and unfit to work. This is when I realised I coukd apply for invalidity pension.
I have to go to a medical assessment in week and I'm hoping the decision will be made soon after.
The medical assessment lettet came from IB people. I contacted IP and they have advised me to attend this as it will help them make a decision.
Sorry this is a bit long winded.
I'm just hoping I won't be waiting too long and that I can get something from CWO.

If your husbands net income is less than €520 per week then he can apply immediately for WFP. If he’s working more than 30 hours per week then you won’t get SWA.

SWA is assessed euro for euro so whatever he earns will be deducted from the family rate of the SWA and you will be paid the balance while waiting on your Invalidity Pension

The SWA rate for your family is €369.70.
Say your husband is earning €350 per week.
Then you would get €19.70 SWA.
