Insurance claims

Hi. Can anybody explain to me what happens with a minor traffic collision. Some damage to both cars. Both parties have conflicting versions of events as can be the case.

So both are saying the other is in the wrong. Both have same photo's of car damages and that is about it. No witnesses to verify who is wrong or right.

The insurer cannot accept the other parties claim without actual proof and also cannot pursue a claim against the other party. So do both parties claims get rejected or what happens?

    50/50 maybe?

When you say 50/50. Do you mean both parties just look after their own claim. If the insurer cannot make a decision, then both would be better off just get the repairs done themselves without claiming on their insurance if the repairs are not excessively costly?

50/50 does not mean each party looks after their own. You are responsible for half their loss and they are responsible for half of yours. It often happens that their is a significant difference in the amounts involved
