Fuel Allowance not qualifying

Fuel Allowance not qualifying because the spouse is working part-time?

I'm unemployed for more than a year now and last week I applied for the Fuel Allowance.

I live together with 2x kids and my wife who is working part-time and her weekly income is not greater than 210 euro p/w, and apparently, the fact that she is working disqualify us from receiving this allowance ???

So if my wife would quit her job and instead of working for €210 she would be unemployed and receive €198 that would be 100% OK and we would get the payment? This makes no sense!

    Any point in fighting this?

She wouldn’t get any JS if she quits her job. You’d have to claim for her in full and she’d only get €134 as your dependent.
Right now your getting at least 350 JS and you also have 210 from employment so your income is at least 560 per week and you don’t need fuel allowance.
