Hi, sorry i know I've posted about issues regarding being abused by my brother before but things are getting worse at home & i need to get out.
I've seen a flat which is available in September. Rent is 100euro a week. This would be tough for me so I'm wondering if i could get any support with it? IF i did go ahead & rent. I thought someone here might know more about it. I have looked it up online & don't quite understand it all.

You’ll have to get cracking Rachel and get on the housing list pretty quickly.
Do you have any support from a social worker or the Gardai about the situation with your brother? It would hurry things along if you did.
Go to your local authority first thing tomorrow and ask them to give you the housing need application form, fill it in, you can get help from the CIC. Once your approved then you can apply for HAP.
See your local CWO at the SW about your situation too.

Do you mean for a council house? Not sure i can do that, i mean there's nothing wrong with my parents house & wouldn't it need to be assessed?
I just need to get out for my own mental health really. I didn't report it to guards it was a once off incident. I do go to therapy every monday & have told her. I apply for every job i see & have been turned down by lidl, tesco etc. I have seen homeinstead & irishhomecare are looking for people so think that will be my only chance at getting work at this stage but again its tough cause the short courses need to be funded before starting work.

Rent allowance is gone - the only game in town is HAP and you have to be on your local Council's social housing list to be eligible for HAP. Get the form, which is lengthy, and study it. Look at Part 7 - which is about medical problems and may apply to your situation but you'll need to provide some supporting documentation.

Here's a link to it: https://www.dublincity.ie/sites/default/files/content/Housing/Home/Documents/HousingApplicationForm.pdf (Each council has a different version, but the info. required is the same)

There’s no help for rent from SW anymore. Rent allowance is gone. It’s all HAP now.
The CWO might be able to help you with paying for the training courses for the home nursing jobs.

Not sure if working in nursing homes/caring would be a good idea for someone with mental health issues.

To work for those types of companies you usually need two modules from a QQI level 5 Healthcare Support course. The modules are Care of the Older Person and Care Skills. You can find training companies that will provide these courses for less than €200 per module. Social Welfare also can provide some finance towards them. Once you have those modules you are allowed to work in a care setting such as a nursing home. Usually the employer will ask that you complete the remaining 6 modules to get the full award. You should know though that you'd be lucky to be on €11 an hour. It is a notoriously poorly paid sector for people starting out.
