C4 clutch pedal

    I think this car needs to go!

    Clutch went last night. Looks like a rod has snapped at the pedal. Now pedal doesnt return.

    Any idea how to fix (DIY) or cost of a fix?

    It might not be as simple as that.
    Release lever broke on the golf. It was gearbox out job to fix.
    Gave the same symptoms as yours

    I thought it would just be to re tread that bolt that broke. Crap

    That looks like your clutch master cylinder that has failed. Item 10 in the attachment. The correct part number will depend on your VIN.
