Of course some have health problems, but the majority don't. Are some happy being unhealthy?

Being overweight in itself isnt a measure of being unhealthy. Like everything else that is lifestyle based, it just increases chances of some things.

At the risk of stating the obvious?
Haven't you pretty much answered your own question?

I'm ensuring a high fat content for my booby-milk cheese for extra creaminess. Excellent for sauces and pasta dishes.

What’s the matter OP are you bored because you can’t go out to play with the rain. Thank god when schools back in a couple of weeks so fcuktards and their stupid threads won’t be clogging up the main trending page.

I used to play rugby with a fella that looked fat yet he was one of the fittest people there. Doing laps during training never bothered him, whereas a few of the backs would be gasping.
He was just built that way, like all of us are built a certain way.

The bigger the waistband, the deeper the quicksand.

Seriously though, don't underestimate the impact of medication and it's prevalence. You'd be surprised how many are on anti depression or anxiety pills, or which weight gain is a symptom.

My weight ballooned on Lexapro, and I am very active, it's a constant battle to keep it off. My partner eats like a horse and is tiny.

Some people struggle with it all their life, no matter how hard they try. Take my mother for example, she's 71 now and has been on every conceivable diet known to man, even spending €1000 on a 'medical plan' for losing weight. It goes off, but it goes back on just as quick without her going back to eating crap. She eats way healthier than me, but no matter what it just won't stay down.

But there are some out there who don't care and continue to stuff themselves, until it turns into a habit and it's very hard to break then.

Some people are overweight because of their health problems.

Some people can be predisposed to obesity, and sometimes it is health-related but yes, most of the time it's down to the consumption of more calories than the body actually requires/uses up. Mental health issues can also contribute, i.e. comfort eating and not exercising, or an over consumption of alcohol. It isn't always so black and white.

Obesity is the biggest health crisis facing this country.

Far too many people do not proactively manage their health and it costs the state a fortune to pay for it.

In my experience people genuinely don’t understand that their body shape is temporary and malleable. They think that’s just the way things are. And even if they put in some effort to lose fat they quickly give up because fat loss results can be slow. That just reinforces the concept that that’s just the way they are.
People by default, are not trained in self-discipline and delayed gratification. Fat loss is damned hard (spoken as an ex-fattie).
Being in really great shape takes tremendous effort with directed intentional lifestyle changes.
It all seems distant and unattainable so people will just plod along.

We just can’t resist eating cheeky thin people . A bit lean but lovely all the same .

Fat people should lay siege to where thin people hang out .

We will always outlast ye . We are always ready for a siege .

It is purely to annoy the OP that they dont lose weighy. Obviously.

They are going to use a crisis - Brexit - to cause food shortages. All the thin people will die out due to inadequate fat reserves.
Once the thin people are dead, they will magic up a trade deal, or feast on the dead, haven't quite figured out that phase yet.

    Why should they?

Would you say to an anorexic person why don't you just eat a cheeseburger?

Genetics are a huge factor, I eat as much as two yet never come close to being overweight, my other half ( she's gorgeous) puts it on extremely easily

    Genes do play a part.

It's not just genetics, the same genes can alternate based on the womb environment.

There's compelling evidence that if the pregnant mother is going through a food shortage, the baby in the womb responds to this and 'epigenetic' switches on the DNA flip. The baby comes out primed for food shortages, and will eat more when the food is available.

There are also tonnes of people out there with significant health problems but are UNDERweight, this always seems to be forgotten during fat-bashing though, or else its pure ignorance.

Numerous studies have detected an 'obesity' paradox, where survival rates for major surgery is higher for people who are overweight (though not morbidly). It's unclear what the cause is. But certainly, if you are going in for major surgery you want to be at least at normal weight and maybe carrying a few pounds.

How do you know that they’re not losing weight? Any random thin person you see may once have been overweight.

You’ve serious obsession issues with overweight people, OP.

Ever see anyone in a famine be fat? Nope, don't think so. It's pure gluttony, simple. Unless it's medical reasons. The majority of fatties are just greedy gobblers.

Genes may alter metabolic rate. But you will find that out pretty quickly.

    Slow metabolic rate? Eat less.

Maybe they, or rather their bodies, think there's a famine around the corner and they're in prep mode...
