Long shot. But someone might recognise the reg # and call them. They are pretty dim as it stands.

At the midway food court M7 lights left on. Asked in the newsagents if they could announce over the speakers, but not possible.

On a side note, Surely most cars have a chiming sound if any lights left on, How do people still manage to do it ?

    Was it widespread in 2004?

Should be, I know of cars in the mid 1980's that had it.

Not on the s40. Or mine anyways.

Doesn’t the s40 turn off the lights automatically?

I’ve never heard of a car without it though, apart from my fiats and Alfa which would switch off when you took the key out.

The dipped beams yes but the parking lights and orange side markers will stay on. No chime or beeb noise either. Not a big deal because I just leave mine in the off position but the lights still come on as it's a sort of drl feature.

I’d say you had a faulty door switch or something.

On the s40 it just works like that. Similarly switching from on to off will only change the way the stalk works, but lights will stay on.

You just won't be able to switch to high beam permanently when in zero position.

In real world you wouldn't switch to parking lights unless you need to, so why would you have a warning.

Still see some on the road doing just that. Not sure why. Mine is on all the time. Any other setting is just stupid.
