Hi guys mother has issue with her 2007 seat ibiza 1.4 16v and it registered a code and has it checked and told it would need a sensor new 300 better off with secondhand. She was told it was a 5 wire sensor that dose 2 things and its on the manifold. Any ideas what that is searching just sensors in misterauto and micks garage to see what it could be and none seem to be that price. Also may be 2 sensors top and bottom. She is in waterford on holidays and I am in clare so just need some guidance as what it is and costs. Guy who checked car is off on holidays today but told her its ok to drive he reset code. He is going to write out what she needs i hope.

Sounds like lambda probe but that would put smelly exhaust at the back of your car. Also car would not be as nippy due to using more fuel.I would also check brake booster pipes as they crack and let in air on vws making the car hunt and harder for car to stop.
Its closer from the engine the hard plastic cracks and lets in air.

So found out its the pre cat lambda sensor or O2 senor with 5 wires to connector which is the most expensive one as most are 4 wires. Can anyone recommend a good one or place to get one at a good price. The car is 2007 Seat Ibiza 1.4 16v i beleive it to bw 100bhp and the 1390cc. Thanks

Price them at motor factors and main dealers as 5 wire are common, have your engine code to hand on side of engine on tb cover and in boot under carpet.Seat, Skoda, and Vw could use the same part and be priced differently so worth checking.
