    Hi Guys,

I need to transport a bike from Dublin down to Waterford next weekend, along with me and the missus. Do any of you have recommendations ?

In before anyone suggests driving it , answer is it can't be.

    Thanks

that's an option but its only needed one way. Also no way to secure it in the back.

Theres one or two rental companies operating in Waterford, they may have a Dublin depot to, it maybe possible to rent it one way, I'd imagine straps could be used, might be worth checking out.

I'm missing ramps too. 200 kilo bikes aren't easy to move into a van.

I'm not looking rent a van. Thanks.

I have seen motorbike transport companies operating here, unsure if there's still any, Google may supply that answer. Best of luck

So you don't want a van or a motorcycle transport company..

So your last option is to borrow a trailer off a buddy if your car has a tow hitch and strap it down in that

When did I say that ?

    Let me clarify ...

I want a motorcycle transport company to come to my house, load the bike and bring it and me to Waterford. Pretty simple ;)

Google then, as suggested earlier, or you could take it in turns to push, might take a while though ;)

Check on the motorcycle buy and sell pages on Facebook. Some might only agree transport the bike on it own. Others may agree to take the missus with you as well.

I've used this guy, he's based in Limerick but transports bikes nationwide.

To clarify - they really are.

And a scaffold plank works as a ramp.

Just in case anyone else reads this thread. 200+ bikes are simple to put into the back of a renault trafic with a scaffold plank, ive done it numerous times with 2 bikes in the back.

You might need to clarify what a "scaffolding plank" is...unless theres an app for that...:p:D

Its a Buell XB9S that I bought last weekend. Decided not to keep it, so I'm part trading it in against a new HD Ultra Limited.
