How far will it go?

I bought a 2008 A6 3.0 TDI automatic about a year ago. It has 300k kilometres on the clock when I bought it, I've put another 35k kilometres on there, mostly motorway.

The car is in good condition and at last service I had the suspension checked - zero issues. It's been amazingly reliable so far, touch wood.

I'm considering getting bluetooth media support added (and any recommendations on where to get that done would be appreciated).

I'm wondering what kind of mileage can be expected from these engines, i.e. will it go to 400k + kilometres without issue?

I think there's someone who posts here quite a bit (Kaiser if I'm not mistaken?) that does high miles in one of those exact cars - I imagine he'd be a good person to ask

335k km on a diesel car, especially a larger engine, which has always been serviced and driven appropriately isn't high mileage imo.

I sold a B5 1.9TDI with over 500k km on clock and had no reason to think engine wouldn't do the same again.

My wife is driving my old BXE 1.9 Octavia with about 375k km on it. There was an issue with oil pressure sensor about 12 months ago, which mechanic suspected was entirely electronic. To be sure I asked him to drop sump and make sure there was no evidence off damage to engine. "It looks new" was he reply.

The economics of owning a low "value" car,/just liking a change/insurance company fcukology will eventually force a change probably but the engine falling asunder is very unlikely

Speaking of high milage Octavia diesels, here's an interesting video.

How long is a piece of string?
It'll all depend on how it was looked after and how its looked after by you, now that you own it.

I had an A3 with 300,000 miles on the clocks and the engine was still perfect. Rest of the car wasn't, mind.

It all depends on oil change and quality of oil. Type of car/engine doesn't really matter once it's looked after. Wife has a 05 Focus 1.4 petrol 11 years now and it's always serviced at 10k kms with fully synth. oil and currently it has 402,000 kms. Aiming for 500k now!
