Lets say a man gets in rage, guards are called. He is charged with an assault.

There will be a court case. Is it reasonable to assume that this kind of case will be reported in the local media ?
Or could this somehow just stay under the radar, and not be reported ?

Local papers usually report all those types of cases.

As Srameen says the local papers have reporters at all District and Circuit sittings. Usually all cases which may be reported are covered.

In Dublin due to the number of courts sitting not all cases are covered.

And it depends on what other newsworthy things are happening at the time.

If there's a reporter there from the local papers it'll be printed.

This is their core content these days that can't be got elsewhere and they won't neglect it

The local papers are filled with these incidents every week.
If you are up in front of the judge for something embarrassing you’d be as well off to tell everyone your version of the story before hand so it’ll be old hat by the time the Tipperary Star puts it on page 6.
Don’t forget you’ll be old news by the time next weeks issue hits the stands.

Depends on space, other things happening, more interesting stuff in the court that day, whether the reporter comes from that area, whether the reporter was out having a smoke, whether the editor thinks it's worthy. And so on. No guarantees it'll get published, no guarantees it won't.
