Sander?; Which Type?

Type, please. Not make or model. I'll go for any cheap as chips, generic one. If it can manage about 20, 30 square yards of light work? Cool ;)

I have some of that light, thin (Lovely) paneling. Stuff ye buy by the pack and sort of slot together?

It's up. It has molding / architrave trim, here and there. And I've primed / undercoated some of it. That I'll remove with Nitromors.

I'm just imagining that some of the ~ by now ~ grubbier spots may need a rub. Before or after the stripper? Bits where the rain's blown in. Or the constant passage of hairy Dogs has marred the surface. Greasy?

So ~ sorry ~ to rephrase my question: Will I Need a sander? If so; Orbital or Detail. (Please, don't even Talk to me about Belt Sanders. I had one, in a past life. I still bear the mental scars)

    Thank you :)

I bought a B&Q McAlister 1/4 sheet sander not to long ago and its dead already.
Was only sanding plaster with it too.
    Stay away from that crap.

Small delta sanders are quite good, great for getting into detailed work on stairs or architrave around doors etc...

    Cheers, lads.

No Aldi or Lidl in Co. Leitrim, that I'm aware of. I'll likely go to Screwfix, online.

So; I take it Dilbert's referencing one of those little 'ace of spades' type, 'detail' ones then? I'll have a look.

    Thanks :)

I bought an Oscillating multitool that has a delta sander attachment, maybe you could justify one on the basis of not just getting one tool but many tools for a similar price.
If you have never used an OMT they are very handy for tight spaces and plunge cuts.

Blimey! I'd never come across those things before. I'll look into them much more deeply.

    Thanks! :)
