Hi all i recently signed onto jobseekers benefit. I've been told my money is to be paid every Wednesday and had my meeting last Wednesday. It says on the form my money is payable from 26/07/19. My question is do you think I can collect it a day early? I remember being able to do that before on social welfare. So if it's due this Wednesday will it be there tomorrow?

So i went down today and they gave me 2 days pay from 29/07 to 31/07.
Worringly I got a letter from them today. I believe I got paid an extra 20 quid last time I was signing on and never paid it back. They told me in the letter today that if I'm receiving a social welfare payment they'll cut my personal rate by 15% a week until I repay my debt. That amounts to slightly over 20 euro. Do you think they'll just take 20 euro out of my payment one time?(the fair thing to do since that's what i owe.) Or take 15% of my dole every week until I repay my debt?

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads and replies

SW aren't meant to take more than 15% from someone's SW payments.

The Ombudsman was on about this on RTE as recently as last week.

Incidentally, from 29/07 to 31/07 is three days, not two!
