Leon is cheaper than golf..and has better spec.. don't forget you pay for what you get.. looking for something cheaper than a golf means you're sliding down the quality scale.. cant expect to pay a few k less than a premium brand and still get premium...

The engines rated as more powerful than many other 1.6 diesels but the gearing ruins the benefits.

My dad had one identical to that from new and had a lot of niggly issues, mainly with extras that has over the standard model. There's two EX spec ones in the family and they've been faultless to be fair.

I'd prefer a Golf/Focus/Leon to one to drive and for build.

    Thanks for the replies,

    How about the Volvo?

The V40 is tiny inside and in the boot.

The Golf ain't a premium brand though. They are a good car but I think a lot of people tend to overrate their status at times because of their perceived quality and image.

That's what replaced it actually, a D3 auto. Really nice car actually, servicing ain't cheap though.

They're really only a 4 seater if that matters.

Kia make high quality, highly reliable cars and have been for many years now.

VW are not a premium brand they are a mass market brand with cars that are overrated and not as reliable or as well built as people think. You would be much better and smarter buying a Seat or a Skoda if buying from the VAG group of cars as they are built better and more reliable than VW as all the problems have been sorted by then.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

That used to be true years ago but nowadays all competing VW cars are on the same platform. In some cases the Seat or Skoda model will launch before the VW badged product.

Any differences in customer satisfaction surveys between Audi/VW/SEAT/Skoda are a product of the customers expectations, customer profile, and the dealer network.

Worth noting that the Kia mileage limit on their new car warranty is 150 k kms.

So just 4500 kms of warranty left on that car.

Now that is 4500 kms more warranty then you'd get on a 2013 car from most other makes sold private - but still worth noting I think

    Isn’t it 160,000km/100000 Miles?

Seems to be on UK cars which that car is.

But I'd expect Kia Ireland to go with the 150 k kms they seek to cite .

160 k kms/100 k miles makes A LOT more sense for sure but 150 k kms is what I see written down on Irish Kia sites

As an example, Hyundai covered our uk car up to 5 years where the equivalent Irish car was 3 years.
