Hi all, damaged my car today by driving over a kerb. 09 ford focus. damaged the underneath front right lower bumper and a circular metal housing thingy that is just behind it below the fan belt assembly. Does anyone know what the circular metal housing is covering?? It got a big dent in it from the incident and now a noise is coming from it.any suggestions would be great.thanks

I can’t really tell from the photo if it’s part of the a/c system or power steering. Take out your headlight and get a photo from the top.

There’s just 2 screws and 2 clips holding it in.

Hi Stoolbend, think I have it sussed.its the power steering pump/resevoir.the base is dented so whatever is inside is not freely moving causing the weird noise.im hoping to get a second hand one.....is it something that can be easily replaced or should i leave it to the professonals.how much would i expect to pay for a secondhand one?? Thanks

I wouldn’t have a clue of the cost to be honest. I’d imagine it’s easy enough to change. Access from the top with the lamp out should be fairly good.
