Up envy laptop battery dead works off mains worth anything?

    Hey all

    I've a 13 inch i5 hp envy which works fine off mains power but the battery is not charging.

    Is it worth anything were I to try to sell it?

    could be

    1. the charger / connection outside the laptop
    2. the connection inside the laptop at the power connection point
    3. the battery
    4. software drivers

    for a quick try on number 4 you could try going to device manager, uninstall the items under the batteries section and reboot the laptop

    I've done both what you suggested and a complete recovery after which the battery was full but drained within an hour

    The connection is fine so it appears to be the battery

    Question is about how much it is worth?

    check ebay for the exact model on a buy it now listing.

    take off 80 euro for battery being totally gone

    probably worth more to buy a replacement battery (one with good reviews on aliexpress for example) and sell then.
