Thistles. Not spear thistle

Some ground that was disturbed ( felled some old spruce trees) is now full of thistles. Doesn't look like spear thistle as it's got a weak 'stalk' . is that a different type of thistle?

A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone.
