My son just failed hes driving test (see other post) and just re-booked, he has requested for a cancellation, how does this work? so as of now he as no fixed date, the next test available is 10th Sept,so what if no cancellation comes up in next 5 weeks and the 10th comes and goes, he could be waiting longer for a cancellation, should it work this way round, you book 10th Sept and say i will take any cancellation before this date, this option didn't seem to be there, thanks.

There definitely will be cancellations before the 10th of September. Just ring every day, even twice a day and ask are there any cancellations for the next few days, I did the same and had a driving test within a few days. You need to make sure your completely prepared for the test tho as you could get a date very short notice eg. in two days time.

Sorry to jump on your thread. I am considering Maybe going on cancelation list. But if they give you a test date and it doesn't suit, do you lose your money or can you go to the end of the queue.
Do they notify you by phone or email

My son just got a cancellation, he rang up every day until he got one, he was advised to do this, now my understanding is if the date he was given didn't suit he could refuse and not lose the payment and continue on cancellation list, he would continue to phone up everyday until a date suits ,but in this case the date was fine.

Thanks for that. Best of luck to him. I seen you posted that he failed for progression. He should pass it this time I'd say

I'd be happy enough to take cancelation but I'd ideally like 2 weeks notice

The earliest cancellation my son got was 2 weeks from last test, next date after that was 10th Sep, he wanted sooner, but settled for that.
