Donedeal no pictures of odometers

Looking to buy a car and have been checking out cars on donedeal. In the description of most cars they seem to have crazy high mileage for their ages like 141 cars with well over 200,000 miles on the clock. Surely these can't be right? Why don't people who sell their cars include a picture of the odometer so buyers can see what the mileage is?

Some want to hide it and if it's miles they are imports...

The mileage would be that on a lot of these as ex reps cars etc.

The mileage is wrote on the ad

Why not ask the seller what mileage is on it? It's usually the cheapest examples that have the highest mileage so it's fair to assume if it's not listed on the advert then it's high.

Take this car as an example:

I find it hard to believe that a 5 year old car could have over 300,000 km's on it. That's why I'd like to see the odometer.

More tham likely was a taxi or sales rep car.

I was a rep a long time ago and did nearly 80k in a year.

I know some taxi drivers, any less than that on a taxi means the owner had another job because you wouldn't make a living doing less driving than that in 5 years.

This is the norm .... Some of these will be on the road 24/7 multiple drivers, this is how it's achieved ....

I don't really understand your logic?

I rather they show the genuine mileage then what you are looking for.....

Clocked cars are plentiful also so don't be fooled ..

I suppose what I'm really looking for is a car with low mileage.
Most ads are also in miles even though the odometer will be in km's.

I haven't lived in Ireland for a long time and am moving back soon. Donedeal didn't exist when I lived there last. I'd like to know why everything is in miles and not km's.

Where is the best place to buy a car? Donedeal, another website or a dealer?

To some people it sounds better saying 120,000 miles rather than 200,000 kms. It doesn't matter if the car is in miles or kms because its the same thing

A lot of garages seem to be bringing in a lot of high mileage diesels from the UK as they have to pay much lower VRT on them. It seems the margin is higher overall.

Plenty of low mileage cars out there though but they will cost you more

I have a 2015 car up for sale that has 214k km on it, it's easily done, especially with motorway mileage. Granted, it was serviced every three months.

Main reason there's no pics of odometers it because it's hard tricky enough to construct a decent ad with the 10 photos that DD allow you to use as it is.

Open minded on make and model but basically looking for a saloon with low enough mileage. Hoping to get something less than 5 years old. Budget is around €10k

I have a 2005 car up for sale with 241k km on it so can't really see how it's that easily done.

It is even harder to believe the seller put mileage that's too high. If they make a mistake, it's in the other direction...

I thought they might have entered the mileage incorrectly . I don't have any experience with using done deal so no idea how ads are placed.
