3 bed holiday rental and we find they leave the heat on way too long.

I'm seeking a controller which only allows 1 to 2 hours without manual intervention.

Is there a controller out there?

Currently have a dial control with the push inout sections.

Nothing I can think of, but what you could do it install a smart controller (Hive, Nest etc)

At least this way you can monitor remotely or even adjust the heating, and I know with Hive you can set notifications where the house exceeds a temperature etc.

They do look good but they require a sim or wifi I presume to connect, no internet there, can they use a sim? Signal is terrible there also.

Hive is not sim compatible, sorry.
I am sure other options out there are though.

Try Salus RT520RF plenty of configuration at a good price.
You can also lock the settings so they cannot be overridden.

Climote operates via sim card and can be controlled remotely
