Has anyone done a trackday overseas? If so where did you get Repatriation insurance, which is required by the events promoter.

I've done a few. Never heard of repatriation insurance though.

    Why not ask the promoter.

If it's for travel insurance then you have to pick the activity if it's listed, motorcycle touring is level 3 on most policies, if it's not listed pick the highest risk level insurance they have.

I think it's to cover the cost of getting it back home, if the vehicle is undriveable for some reason.

Covered on AA 5* policies, and RoadRescue.ie European Cover. Whether it would cover the repatriation cost of a vehicle that is just a hunk of metal buried in to the tyre wall at Copse is another matter.

It's to cover the cost of getting your body home - or what remains of it, not the car.

Thanks everyone for replies, The insurance is to cover yourself in the event of an accident and then to return you home after medical treatment. The organizers say it is necessary in order to take part. There are Companies in England that insure for this but only cover UK residents and only repatriate to England.

Check the higher risks on Irish travel insurance sites. As said I got L3 cover for motorbike touring, track day will most likely be the highest risk. If in doubt email the companies and ask.
