C.E Scheme while with Jobpath

    Hi,

So I am with Jobpath, and I am due to commence a C.E. scheme shortly. What I would like to know, and I would be grateful for any info, is how me doing the C.E. scheme will effect me with Jobpath going forward. Obviously, I know I will still be interacting, and engaging with them, but when they give me an appointment, or give me one of those courses, and it conflicts with my hours on the scheme - what happens there? Does Jobpath try to arrange around your hours, or are you expected to take time out during work to attend Jobpath?

    Thanks for your help

That is a tricky one. I would suspect you will have to go in anyway regardless of whether it conflicts with you hours.

Just communicate your CE days to your adviser and they'll work around that. You'll need to engage with both programmes but it shouldn't be an issue - with these things, transparency is key.

    Thanks for your reply.

Would there be a possibility where my adviser would want me to come in when I am working? That would be my concern.

    I really don't imagine so.
I'm on jobpath, and my advisor is great for working around training schemes and school runs.
I'm sure it will be fine if you explain the situation.

I wouldn't see that being an issue for your bog-standard, basic one-to-one appointment, as the advisers have quite a lot of flexibility with these. It may be that something specific comes up that clashes with a CE day (a specific training course or interview with an employer, for example) and it may be that these should take precedence, but these instances should be rare and subject to discussions.

They are obliged to schedule appointments outside of your C.E. working hours, as the C.E. sponsor is not obliged to grant time off for TN appointments. If a scheduled appointment conflicts with your C.E. scheme, just contact your P.A. to reschedule it.

Occasionally, TN may suggest courses that might be more inflexible than appointments, and it will not be possible for TN to reschedule for just one attendee. If this occurs, you should discuss the issue with your C.E. Scheme Supervisor and Sponsor.
