Adding Attic insulation

Currently our house has prefabricated trusses in the roof.
The center is floored for storage.

There is only about 100mm of insulation in place.
I plan to add extra insulation later this year.

The sides I plan just to add 200mm across the current insulation.
I want to retain the storage space so I am looking for advice.

What I am thinking of doing is
    Remove flooring

    Remove current insulation.
    Raise the batten by 100mm.
Put in 200mm of new insulation.

Add another 100mm batten across this and put the 100mm of old insulation across the 200mm.

    Replace floor.

    Is this feasible?

Or should I stop at 200mm in the center?

I am wondering if I use this in the trusses to allow air to circulate from the eves when I lay extra insulation will it be ok?
