    Hi Folks
Was going to put this in the buying thread but wasn't sure whether I could.
Looking for a new car (well not necessarily new) 2016/2017. Budget is 10,000 ish. No trade in.

Hubbie says I need a girlie car lol so a small one - been looking at Mitsubishi, VW etc. Any suggestions on best sites to look - there are so many - would prefer to buy from a dealer. Will obviously go and look at places too but trying to do a bit of research. In Dublin but happy to travel.

Had a look at brand new cars - ford and Opel- but can't find prices for some of them - have to send an enquiry form in which I really don't want to do!

    Thanks

You need to decide on what your requirements are first.

What mileage do you do currently? Do you use the car to commute to work? If so, how far?

Do you need 4 doors? Is boot space important?

Do a fair bit of mileage on my current one (BMW diesel) but only because we use it if we were going away for the weekend - Wexford, Donegal etc. My commute to work takes about 10 minutes. No kids so boot isn't important except the shopping. Don't necessarily need 4 doors.

Would you have a figure to put on that? Going away on weekends probably doesn't add up to much in terms of annual mileage. If you work is only 5 minutes away, I can only guess that you cover less than 10,000km per year, maybe substantially less. This would likely rule out the need for a diesel at least.
