Saw this in an article about polygamy in Indonesia:

Polygamy, which has long existed in Aceh and the rest of the country, is becoming increasingly common with the rise of conservative Islam and the emergence of dating apps for men seeking a second wife.

I'm guessing you'd have to be pretty desperate to sign up to an app where you are second best, at best. Wonder is it hard coded into the app that a woman cant have more than one husband? I'm waiting for the David Fincher "Social Network" movie version of this.

I read a defense of polygamy once that went somewhere along the lines of “better being the second wife of the king then the first wife of bozo the clown”.

In the west we use affairs so high status men can have multiple partners.

It would probably be nice for a year. I guess there must be polygamists who cheat on their multiple wives with a bit of strange. It's human nature.
