STOLEN CAR FOR SALE

This is just a warning to Irish buyers intending purchasing UK cars.

I was tasked with checking out and collecting a Ford Focus for a friend as they had won it on Ebay. I did a full car history check last week on reg YC13CVB tto have it come back all clear. However yesterday I checked again to make sure and it showed up as stolen. And no it wasn't stolen recovered, it was actually still stolen. See pics attached

I also researched the postcode where he implied he'll have someone or himself available any day, and he said he's opposite house 49. Well this according to Google maps is a Football pitch with car park. Plus the background on the pics of the car on a driveway is no where like that of Google map images for the postcode.

I went into a Police station to report this and unbelievably they couldn't divulge that information to me there and then as I had to apply for freedom of information. I then persisted stating that is he not in possession of stolen goods and I showed him my finding. I did say that could it be that the insurance data base is not as up to date as the Police marker database and he then checked his database, but said he can't tell me if it is or not still wink wink. Then he wanted the postcode from where I was to meet him and his mobile number and where it was advertised. He also took my name and number, so looks like something showed up for definite. Still though he wrote it on a piece of paper and said someone might be in touch.

So folks beware and careful and always double check and if in doubt walk away !!
