Any idea what's happening on the ballincollig bypass. They seem to be adding new bases for signs?
    M40?

If this is eastbound near the end of the Ballincollig bypass, it's a gantry for a VMS sign they are installing, which will provide travel time information and provide information to motorists in the event of a crash or closure on the N40 or one of the approach roads.

Simiar ones are being installed on the N71 near the Viaduct, the N40 eastbound at Curraheen and the N40 westbound at Togher at present.

Jacobs and TII are currently working on an N40 motorway reclassification study however this is some way from completion yet.
