    Hiya,

As a new Landlord I understand I need to insure the property for Buildings Insurance but do I also need Public Liability Insurance to mitigate against any personal risk?

    Thanks in advance

For your own peace of mind I would say yes. Its generally something that's under landlord insurance policies in any case I believe.

Also you should be able to reclaim the cost of insurance as an expense from your tax bill as far as I know.

Check your house/contents/landlords insurance, you might find it already includes an element of PL.
