Walk-in shower cost.

    Wondering what a walk-in shower should cost? It's an old house with a bath which would need to be removed. Obviously every job is different - but just wondering what would be the normal/average labour cost of ripping out an old bath and installing a walk-in shower?


    I've heard that the labour cost could be from 1k to 2k - but not sure.

    Shower materials
    Are there tiles/flooring to match the existing or will you re-floor the whole bathroom?

    3k is my beer at guess with the way the current climate is for trades.

    IMO the labour could cost in the region of €2,500 and the cost of materials can really be anything you want to spend.

    Good to have these opinions on cost. 2.5k to 3k is a lot of cash but if it's properly done, it will add value to the property.
    One thing that makes it all tricky is that you have to hire different trades - plumber, electrician, tiler and in my case carpenter/builder too because an internal wall needs to be knocked through. I just hope that the current building boom doesn't mean these people are not available for small jobs. During the bust, they'd be queueing up for the work but at the moment I'm not so sure. Getting a tradesman to do a job during the last boom was very tough. There would be humming and hawing and then the price would be 100 per hour - cash only (take it or leave it).
