A school board in George Washington high school, San Francisco, have unanimously decided to destroy a controversial mural depicting the life of George Washington.

Painted by famous Communist Victor Arnautoff the painting is clearly meant to oppose the sanitized versions of American history that are taught in most schools.

So you’d think “progressives” would support it. Instead, some of them, at least, find it so offensive they want it gone.

The left’s embrace of censorship is the great political tragedy of our time.
Censorship, the destruction of art, and the sanitizing of history are appropriate agendas for reactionaries and establishment-types; progressives and radicals should certainly oppose them. And yet, in the age of “political correctness,” there’s a disturbing tendency for those on the left to adopt the repressive tactics of their enemies.

It's the US, nothing is surprising when it comes to stupidity.

It was decided to remove it in a single school district where the board was 6 people... So it's basically the equivalent of a small area. It's been subject to numerous objections as it doesn't make sense to remove it. Say it's pretty likely that it won't be painted over. But most definitely not similar to statues being moved.

Is this to be a dumping ground for every for every perceived outrage found in the US regardless of how contrived?
