Hi im purchasing a house on leasehold land there was a shared laneway and because of misuse the neighbour has claimed this laneway and blocked our entrance exit with a gate .
I want access only to put my cars and bike .
The neighbour whom i have not met is said to be difficult however negotion was not ruled out we have a young chld and i do not want to be putting him in car on a busy main road it would be safer for us to park at back of property .
If negotiations fail would approaching a peace commissioner or bringing it to court i will do whatever neighbour wishes we are very reasonable people also any tips on negotiating such matters welcome thanks

    Why make this your problem

Don’t sign contract until it’s sorted

Exactly - you solicitor is paid to do searches and point out any issues like rights of way etc.

Get the seller & solicitor to sort it before signing.
