I go sock shoe sock shoe because I'm afraid that if I put my foot back down on the ground in my sock that I may pick up small pebbles dust that will then annoy me when I put my shoe on. So once I put my sock on it goes straight in the shoe just in case.

Not worth the risk, tbh. What if something happens, like a fire? You'll have to run out onto the street, wearing nothing but a pair of socks and everyone will know that you're a pervert.

That's the main issue I have with sock, shoe, sock, shoe: if you get interrupted by a fire alarm, you'll end up limping around on the street and everyone will be immediately aware of your sick routine.

Sock, sock, shoe, shoe. Socks are put on while standing usually, then sit down and put on shoes. An earlier poster made a good point for sock, shoe, sock, shoe.....I’d usually do this if I was in the gym as the floor is normally wet, so it makes to do it this way so the socks don’t get wet

I have a mild phobia of fabrics rubbing together. So at home, where I've wooden floors I'd probably go sock shoe sock shoe.

But if I was elsewhere, like in a hotel, or friend's house, and they had carpet, I'd probably go sock sock shoe shoe to avoid putting the sock down on the carpet.

And as previous said, in them or the beach it'd also be sock sock shoe shoe for obvious reasons.

that doesnt make any sense
your goal is to not put the sock on the floor but you put both socks on before your shoe so one sock must be left in contact witht he floor to put the other one on.
