    Does anybody know if is it possible to make up a new larger diameter flexi fuel line from the tank to the filter in a Ford 4610? The small bore metal pipe keeps getting blocked and the tractor stalls. Tank has been cleaned out of muck and i was just thinking of letting the fuel filter do its job, easier that blowing back the fuel line and bleeding the injectors each time. Can tank and filter fittings with hose tails be got easy enough?

    Where are you based?? Place near me (north cork) do tractor spares and hoses of all sorts. They’d make up any sort of hose with any attachment you could imagine. Your problem sounds right up their street. They courier stuff too so distance should be an issue.
    Farm and industrial mallow is the name I can’t seem to link it but google will give it to you

    Talking to someone recently that put an in-line filter on the flexible hose from the tank to the main fuel filter. He said it is a great job to collect the big dirt.
    It should be possible to make up any hosing, just make sure they are ok to use with diesel.

    In-line filter;

    Good idea, be no harm to put some sort of tap on the in flow side of the filter too to allow for easy maintenance. Are the compression (rounded) ends of the fuel lines easy to fit/get? Tractor is from the 90's with imperial fitting I'd say.

    I presume that it's a metal tank. Metal tanks are a pain for some reason they can never got clean and you constantly get hung and first coming out, even though usually it will not block pipes. One thing to be aware of is pipes themselves get pouros and sir breeding back in through a rubber pouros pipe can be misconstrued as dirt. It is usuauonly an issue on starting up while dirt is an issue that will crop up during use

    An electronic lift pump as opposed to a manual one may helpas well. The only limiting size with regard to pipes is the tankhole most other fitting can be bought over the counter and on line. As a matter of interest have you priced a replacement tank costs it may be an option as well.

    if the fuel pipe is getting blocked then the gause filter in the tank is gone. Take off the tap at the bottom of the tank and put on a new one.

    If that small filter gets blocked am I not back to square 1? Be easier to get at the filter on the side of the engine than emptying the tank for that small filter!
