@Base price, looks like Biden is giving big insentive to them to keep their manufacturing plants in the US, it will be interesting to see when these new fabs start to come on line will they limit or stop there latest technology from been manufactured abroad, only time will tell,

The one thing that Ireland has going for it is that we are an extremely stable country when it comes to seismology and that is why a lot of these tech giants place their manufacturing and data center's here.

    Absolutely.

They would moth ball the Leixlip facility without a second thought if it made financial sense.

There are a number of reasons company's choose a location for their manufacturing facilities, Ireland has always seen growth with Intel manufacturing facilitie since the day they decide to invest here, as far as I'm aware they have always been building or been in compition for the latest technology to be manufactured on the site, up to now they have been very successful in achieving this, with so much focus from the US government on keeping American businesses / technologies within the US and particularly on semiconductor technology only time will tell what damage that will do to manufactureing sites outside of the US, they will always need facilities outside the US but will they be manufacturing the latest products which there site here has always managed to achieved to do.

The seismology is not as important as it used to be really, there's a great deal of chips being made in Japan and Taiwan, both famously bouncy places.

The fabs have learned how to prepare and how to recover themselves after.
