Where to look part time work / DA

    Hi,

I have been on DA allowance for several years now due to depression and anxiety, since being stuck near twin towers when 9/11 happened for several years now

I do have a bachelor's degree, in hospitality and business management, and would like to try to attempt to start work again for couple of hours in any field to see if I can cope..

Does anyone have any recommendations where to look, or if there are any organizations that might give me some pointers or suggestions that might assist me

    Thanks

Hi OP, here in the North West we have a program called Employment Response north west, you are referred by a case officer in the deasp and they help you find work to suit your circumstances. It may be called something else where you are but I would assume the Dept have set up a similar organisation in your area. You would need to ask for an appointment to see a case officer. There are incentives for employers to take you on through this program. If you want more info you are free to PM me.

Depending on where you are in the country there should be an Employability office somewhere near you.

Thanks...I'm in Dublin 7..I was thinking of going back to school or training, but it would not make too much sense getting another masters

    Well try these? http://www.employabilitydublinnorth.ie/

Worth noting that it may not suit but is worth a shot.. Sometimes they focus very much on entry level despite experience/training/education

Definitely Recommend Employability, though they didn’t actually find the job I’ve been in for 2 years now, They certainly gave me the confidence and updated knowledge in applying for jobs
(I got mine from emailing around business that I had previous experience in )
Employability does sometimes have a waiting list to get on ( did in Galway anyway) as your assigned a employment advisor and there’s only so many available

** They work with everyone with every level of education and experience **
