Had a win in the horses and finally pulled the trigger and bought this watch from new with tags, box etc.

When it gets delivered, do I need to get it serviced and oiled up etc. Wondering if never worn would it be OK to wear for a few years before a service.

Also delighted to finally get it after 10years of loving the watch. Will post a report and photos when I get it. Have a seiko 5 sports with Pepsi colours so this will be a welcome addition

Enjoy your new watch! - as I understand it it's a kinetic drive watch right? Meaning that it's electronically powered/controlled - in which case it may well last you for a lifetime without servicing (or at least 20-30 years) until the capacitor no longer holds its charge?

Water resistance should be checked once in a while though if you intend to take it for a dip.

Brilliant, that is great news. Thought all need servicing but this is good. Didnt enjoy the idea of it being opened.

Water proofing is OK, don't expect to be using much in water.
