    Hi Folks,
Daughter moving to New York after the summer to study for a year. Have just Bought the Redmi Note 5 Plus from Argos and was going to offer it to her to use while away as her current phone is on the way out.

Would this phone still work in the States.
Also would anyone know what's the best carrier deal she could source while over there

Itll work with all the GSM providers (AT&T, Ting) but itll have approx 50% 4G support (ignore 4G branding in the US as they call 3G, 4G and also 4G, 4G). Would be better to get a fully compatible phone if going for a year.

Cheers for the reply. It's actually a note 5 not plus. But I'd assume that's the same.
Was hoping this would do her as the price was all we could afford. Plus with the dual SIM I was hoping she could use a three UK card for first few weeks till she got sorted with a USA sim
