Will netgear orbi rbk50 work with eir broadband with a speed of 23mbs. The house is quiet big and the current eir router isnt great even with extenders. I dont mind spending money if it works.

Yes, it will work just fine. You will need to configure your existing router to Bridge mode and configure the VDSL settings on the ORBI. If you are using EIR TV you will also need to configure some VLAN tagging but it's very straight forward from the ORBI GUI.

Is there a reason you need a mesh system (Large area to cover?). With those speeds a much cheaper Netgear router could max your current connection, even at a distance.

Its for a large b&b so need coverage in every room. I have tried numerous different routers and plug ins but no joy. Willing to spend the money if it works. Wifi speed is currently poor but will likely improve in next 12 to 18 months. Thanks for the info.

If GPON is coming then opt for wired APs not a mesh. Then your customers will be able to absolutely hammer it - a good thing for your tripadvisor.

The Orbi system can use a wired backhaul if needed.

Yep, but do it from day one or you never will.
