Carers Allowance and Tax

Hi all, I'm aware that my wife's Carers allowance is taxable and have informed revenue.
    We are jointly assessed.
I just received reply from revenue saying that my tax credits will be reduced as a result.
They also say that "as your spouse is receipt of DEASP payment she is entitled to the employee tax credit"

Does anyone know if this affects the fact that she already receives the home carers tax credit?

ie: can you receive Home Carers Tax Credit (Because she down't work ) AND employee tax credit (due to DEASP) payment...?

    thx.
