Hello all, just a quick question re renewing a permit. Basically, for one reason or another, I haven't been able to take all my lessons within the 2 year period ( I have a good few left), so will have to renew my permit. However, due to my college, and work schedule, it would suit me far better to wait a few months before I renew it, and finish the lot out. However, I'm not sure whether I have to renew the permit within a certain amount of time, so as to avoid going through the theory test and all that again. Can someone clarify this for me please? (Btw this was only my first permit)

You have to let the permit expire for 5 years without renewing before having to redo the theory test and EDT, so you’ll be fine.
