Hi folks, I'm in the market for a 3 door passenger Land Rover Freelander 04-06.

Has to be the face lift model from 04 onwards, has to be the 3 door with removable roof and has to be diesel and preferably a high spec model or something like the limited edition Sport model.

I will pay real money for the right car, but needs to have less than 100k miles on the clock, service history and it needs to be immaculate.

Donedeal not showing up too many decent ones.

    Any thoughts?

Also before anyone suggests....I have considered UK and have also considered buying a clean 3 door commercial and 'converting' it myself....from breakers yard bits.

But would prefer to buy the real mcCoy if possible....and save myself the drama and the leg work.

The real McCoy example you’re looking for is unlikely to be in Ireland. They weren’t nearly as loved in Ireland as in the UK, nor did they sell in comparable numbers.

Dunno why you'd bother with one. They were never particularly dependable.

Oh...I know that. Early ones were a joke and the 1.8 petrol engine was never any good. But to be fair the BMW td4 diesels from 2000 onwards were decent, and especially post 04 the whole jeeps were basically fairly sorted and can be seen still tipping around after 180,000 miles. (one on DD). I am looking at this as a second car for a bit of light off-roading & open top cruising

Have also considered a Jeep Wranger 3 door drop top ...but they are even more scarce and just looney money...and again big question marks about their reliability.
