    Hi,

Priced around a few local places and was thinking of getting decent set of tyres for car. Between these brands what would people recommend. Bridgestone, Kumho, Firestone. Semperit.

Not depending on the price of the tires I'd go in preference of the order you have above. From what I can remember I think the Kumho Ecsta is a good range.

Sure thanks, I think the Bridgestone are on offer at 125 and Kumho are 110. One would assume the Bridgestone would be a good tyre. Need two so for 30 euro extra you would go Bridgestone?

Bridgestone. They came with Turanzas when new.

Price is a bit high though. I got them for €80 for what I’m assuming is your size (205/55R16) in Limerick before.

Any of the above would be grand, but def shop around.

Would it be considered high fitted? Mines are actually 215/55/R17 on a 2010 model. Yeah I will try a few other places.

Ok 215/55R17 is a more expensive size but I still think you can do a little better price wise.

    Turanza's 215/55-17 ....a shade under €80 each on tyreleader.ie.
If you can get them fitted for say, €15/20 each you should be happy.

edit; for some reason I had assumed you are in Limerick. It appears you are in Donegal. Tyreleader have 2 fitters listed in Donegal....both of which advertise fitting from €10 per tyre.

Tyres.ie is a great price aggregator. I've paid between €18 and €25 each for fitting, balancing, and disposal etc.

Cheers everyone I will look into those. That's a bit cheaper alright. Going by the replies they are a decent tyre.

If you are in Donegal, go into the north. I got 2 kumhos a few months back for £72 each, and they were 235/45 X 18. Excellent tyre

I see that and listed as demo and other ones coming up as over 80 euro what is the difference there?

Bridgestone A005 Weather Control. Excellent tyre for Irish climate, but will keep you on the road during snowy days.

These are tyres that may have been used for a couple of miles. They will certainly have been fitted and removed from Rims. Main issue is they might have been hanging around somewhere for a year or more.
Apologies, I didn't spot the Demo tag at 1st glance. Personally I would go with the new ones at €86. For an extra €12 (for the pair you need) you don't have to have that nagging feeling that there's a problem somewhere.
As the fitters in Donegal are advertising fitting tyres to Steels or Alloys up to 21" for €10, all you can do is ring around again and see if anyone can match €96 supplied and fitted.

Watch out for that - I've found that, at least when I was in Cork, basically none of the fitters listed on any of these websites had any idea they were there and would flat out refuse to fit tires you provided, nor they would accept a "delivery".

Or at least, they pretended not to know so they could sell you the Triangle or Ling Long sh1t they stocked for a few quids more than Goodyears would be online...

I suppose in that case can always seek a refund if they don't take delivery of them. You would presume tyre leader wouldn't list them if they didn't take delivery.

Ireland. I guess years ago they volunteered, but don't remember anymore.
