Does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade a "Dublin City Bus Only" taxsaver ticket (€1400 per year) to a "Dublin City Bus & Luas" taxsaver ticket (€1700) before the contract finishes? The Dublin City Bus ticket has been active for about 3 or 4 months now, so not even half way into the contract.

I believe you have to cancel the existing ticket, get a refund, and then buy the new one.
Annual Tickets purchased through the Taxsaver Commuter Scheme normally have employer conditions that can vary from company to company. It is advisable to seek clarification with your company administrator before seeking a refund.

Refunds on Annual Tickets will be calculated as follows: The cost of the appropriate Monthly Ticket multiplied by the number of months used is deducted from the amount paid for the Annual Ticket. There is no administration fee involved

it is advisable to find out what refund you would get and compare to how much it would cost you to use luas on your leap card with the weekly cap.
